Of late, through your submissions to the Random acts of kindness project we have reached 30 ideas. Of this, 8 kind blogger badges (how do I win a badge?) have been awarded. The above arrangement of thumbnails represents the acts of kindness collected since December 2007. Click on each thumbnail to reveal the act of kindness. From there it is possible to navigate by pressing the daisy each time. Please do take time to be inspired and please take these away with you to act upon them. Remember….
Which is your favourite act of kindness?
Nice blog. Keep it up! Pass it on!!!
Praise the cooking , is my fav act of kindness, It can make the day for a wife, mother, sister or anyone who goes beyond efforts to cook for you.
SubhanAllah I love the thumbnails! My favorite act of kindness is when the act is a surprise and unexpected.
My favourite today is “take flowers to a hospital ward and give it to somebody who has had no visitors”.
This is a lovely idea!
As-salaamu’alaykum wa Rahmatu Llahi wa Barakatuhu
Ooh, I see you have been a busy bee with all the thumbnails, they are great!
Jazak’Allahu khair for the lovely article!
Humm.. I don’t think I have or could have a favourite act of kindness (even from just the above acts). With the right intention pratically everything can be a form of kindness… even eating healthy food can be kindness to your body, etc.
AlhumduliLlah for being Muslim, and having such a compassionate example to follow (salAllahu’alayhi wa-salaam).
Wa’alaykum as-salaam
Farhana
Peace be upon you all,
cordieb- Your reminder is very pertinent- certainly, being a recipients of a kind act should lead one to reflect on it and try to emulate this in ones interactions and thus pass it on. Wouldn’t you share what act of kindness is your favourite? You are also quite welcome to make a submission.
Maryam- Yes, the one regarding cooks is really very practically and something that is forgotten all to often. Those close to us shouldn’t be exempt from our acts of kindness, but where we should begin.
asqfish- Certainly, something unexpected, something of surprise is something quite special- often random acts of kindness can be, but don’t have to be.
mummyjaan- I think that one is beautiful– something just so simple and as asqfish suggested a nice surprise for the recipient.
Farhana- Your comment is really pertinent. I guess the focus of much of the above is others around oneself, but kindness can be directed to oneself, to ones environment or to anything else, as you say. Intention is the key. Thank you for the reminder.
Thank you all for your kind and worthwhile contributions. You are all most welcome here, so please do visit again.
I love all the acts of kindness; but the easiest act and most universal, in my opinion is the smile.
A gentleman moved a grocery cart out of the parking space I was about to park in a couple of weeks ago. As Il ooked on, he had actually moved the carts out of several parking spaces, and he was a regular customer. I thought that was kind and thoughtful.
My random acts of kindness ideas . .

Thank you for coming by and contributing. I think the key thing is “healthy” certainly…

I remembered it’s Earth Hour tomorrow and thought, I should definitely post this on the don’tbesad blog. Let’s all remember to turn our lights off for just one hour at 8:00 pm tomorrow as our act of kindness towards our planet. =)

MY favorite act of kindness is recognition… recognition and speech… you see something acknowledge and respond… How often do we hear compliments from strangers? It is nice to be acknowledged… I practice this everyday…
Great list and ideas…
Peace be upon you enreal,
Welcome to Dont be sad blog, really good of you to take the time to leave a comment. A curious observation you’ve shared. Yes, there is something very acknowledging and nice to be compliments, but surely this shouldn’t be our only motivation to be kind, should it?
And as for the list- please do feel free to add you acts of kindness.
Do visit again.
Hi
Love this blog. So much so that my ‘random’ act of kindness is to link to it on my new self-help website! 🙂
Smiling more and being sad less are great tips – thanks!
Steve
I love this!
I’m going to sift through each and every one and try and implement it in my daily routine.
I’m new on here and love your blog so far!
😀
My random act of kindness is… listening to others, to what their words often are not saying, as well as to their words.
By observing body language and facial expressions while someone speaks, sometimes the words do not match the other signals.
When I listen with my whole being, my conversations are more likely to respond to the person more fully, of course it is very important not to expose the hidden observations that the body, tone of voice and facial expressions are saying, since people generally like to have their inner life private; others trample on their hearts too easily, when people show how they really feel and what they really think.
Taking that into account, I respond to people after listening, and that includes what they said without words, so they feel heard, even though I never disclose how I really heard what they said.
Tactfulness, consideration and gentleness are three important aspects to communication; in listening and responding.
Heart to heart; soul to soul.
im in love with random acts of kindness. At my high school i took a packet of post it notes and got inspiring quotes and posted them on the lockers for everyone to see when they came out of class. i dont no if i consistifies as a ranom act of kindness but i was glad to see people run around and see what each one said
I am so glad that I came across this website! I suffer from multiple chronic illnesses and sometimes it is the little things that mean the most! I will def be posting a link on my blog b/c I know that others can truly benefit from reading this! I guess my favorite act of kindness is to show each person that they are of value whether by giving a kind word, a smile, or listening.
Nick
I went to this website TheGiftrevolution.com and was blown away by the amount of people posting their stories. What a great idea to inspire the world through random acts of kindness, big or small.
Great blog! Keep it up, definitely what we all need.
There is a great children’s book called Other People’s Shoes. It does a great job of teaching the value of kindness. You should check it out! Here’s a link:
